Yet Another Boring Pin-up...
Of course, I have nothing but respect for our men and women of blue, but this does kinda make me want to run up a few parking tickets. ;)
Note: I debated whether or not to put the NSFW tag on this, because while it is clearly a pin-up, it doesn't actually show any "naughty bits". I decided to err on the side of caution.

I broke down and bought the Carrara 3D Basics 2 package from DAZ. Hey, at the $10 sale price it wasn't much of a risk. I'm still getting the hang of the interface, but so far I'm fairly impressed by the landscape potential.
This is my first real attempt to do anything. It's just one of the wizard samples, tweaked a bit with addition of some clouds and a bit of fog rolling over some of the peaks.
Mostly I'm doing this just to get more convincing outdoor backgrounds for my Poser scenes, but we'll see how it goes.
Well, bodypainting for Carnaval was a complete bust. At one point, I had a total of 8 people coming, but one by one, they all cancelled, the last two that very day. I bear no ill will, of course. Each one had perfectly legitimate reasons, but it was still disappointing. It's now been close to a month since I've painted anyone, and I've really got the itch to try both the metallics as well as a couple of new brushes.

This is NOT what you want to see through your new binoculars.
Lots of postwork here for the readouts, obviously, but I also touched up a number of little rendering errors. I'm getting more confident in my postwork skills that for quick little images like this I feel fine just "fixing it in post" rather than going back and laboriously correcting the little rendering artifacts.

Yet another boring pin-up...
I was talking to a dancer about various body lines and curves, and I was trying to explain how the pose above can make at least one side of the hip/waist look like it's a natural corset, i.e. pinched that much but without the actual clothing. The trick, then, it to use light and shadow to hide the other side of the hip/waist line to not break the illusion of enhanced curviness. I'll probably do another one like this soon but from behind.
BTW, that's furniture from DAZ's Dream House Great Room, V4 Genesis, Quarker's new Radiant Jaguar hair, and of course, good ol' MilDog from DAZ.
(BTW, I've closed comments on this because it's drawing a lot of comment spam.)
