This was a fun technical challenge, mostly just refamiliarizing myself with the particulars of reflection. Probably the hardest part was fine-tuning the water turbulence so that the eyes reflected clearly.
Then it was just a matter of doing two renders (one blue for the top and one red for the reflection) and compositing them together. I also did my standard postwork style, but I had to restore the original for the backdrop sky and its reflection in the water. Otherwise it lost too much detail.

Yet another boring pin-up...
Fifty... wow. When I started this series, I never thought it would go past a dozen or so, but it's been a lot of fun. While I label them as boring, I'm honestly trying to do something a little special with each one, ranging from that little extra prop detail to the extra water and steam effects here.
Enjoy! Maybe it'll get to 100 someday.

I'm really enjoying this new Aiko-4 figure. She's easy to work with and cute as a button. This is her in two different incarnations.
I'm also pretty pleased with some brushes I got from Obsidian (http://www.brushes.obsidiandawn.com/index.htm). The backdrop sky was painted using a blue-to-grey graident and his cloud brushes. They're lovely and very subtle.
I'm getting ready for AggieCon now. Alas, I didn't have a terribly productive winter, so it looks like my AggieCon lineup will be the same as my ArmadilloCon and FenCon lineups. Still, there will be a few pieces I did last summer that will be making their AggieCon debut. Hope to see you there.
